P JAYASINGAM is the head of the Employment & Industrial Relations and
Litigation practice groups. He is a Barrister-at-Law of Gray’s Inn and holds a
Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree from the University of London and a Master of Laws from the
University College London (UCL). Having been admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High
Court of Malaya in 1986, Jayasingam is an experienced practitioner in industrial relations law and
dispute resolution. He advises on contracts of employment, collective agreements and matters
relating to trade unions. He has a high profile in the industrial relations circle as a specialist in
advising employers on trade disputes, strikes, pickets and other forms of industrial actions, as
well as on dismissals, retrenchment and employment issues arising from corporate restructuring
and merger exercises.
Apart from handling industrial relations law matters, Jayasingam is also involved in civil litigation matters with experience at all levels of the judicial system and has appeared in the Federal Court, Court of Appeal and High Court of Malaysia. Jayasingam is the co-author of the Malaysia chapter of “The Concept of Wages” in the Employment and Industrial Relations Law in Malaysia, 1st Edition. Jayasingam is also a very familiar figure in the conference circuits, having delivered lectures and seminars at major conferences and workshops.
