Biography

ESTHER TAN is a Partner in the Construction Dispute Resolution practice group. She holds a Bachelor of Law (Hons) degree from the National University of Malaysia (UKM). She was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2014.

Esther is principally involved in dispute resolution, particularly in construction and engineering related disputes. Her portfolio focuses on construction and engineering litigation, arbitration, and adjudication. Esther also advises on various aspects of construction law and reviews various construction and engineering contracts. Her experience spans a wide range of industries, including building and construction, infrastructure, energy, utilities, telecommunication, information and technology, oil and gas, and agricultural.

Apart from her experience in construction dispute resolution, she also has vast experience in handling disputes and rendering advice in a wide range of matters including debt recovery, insolvency, housing development disputes, injunctive and equitable reliefs, and tortious matters.

She has represented a broad range of clients, including statutory bodies, public listed companies, leading construction companies and telecommunication companies in Malaysia. She regularly appears at all tiers of the Malaysian Courts as well as in arbitration proceedings (both domestic and international).

She has been recognised and named as the finalist in the “Rising Star of the Year, SE Asia” category in the ALB Women in Law Awards in year 2021 and 2023.
