Biography

SUSAN TAN SHU SHUEN is a Partner in the Construction Dispute Resolution practice group. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree from the University of London, United Kingdom. She was admitted to the Malaysian Bar in 2012.

She is a Committee Member of the Adjudication & Construction Arbitration Committee for the Young Practitioners Group of AIAC.

Susan is principally involved in dispute resolution, particularly in construction and engineering related disputes. She has also advised on various other aspects of construction law and reviewed various construction and engineering related contracts. She has had the honour of acting for certain leading and public listed development and construction companies of Malaysia in a number of cases.

Apart from her experience in construction dispute resolution, she also has vast experience in handling disputes and rendering advices in matters relating to private debt securities, receiverships and insolvencies, performance bonds, scheme of arrangements, maritime vessel ownership matters, uncustomed vehicles matters and land matters.

She appears regularly as co-counsel and counsel at all tiers of the Malaysian Courts as well as in arbitration proceedings. She has been involved in a number of reported landmark decisions in Malaysia.
